Eva Malia is known for her courage and compassion in tackling life's greatest challenges: love, freedom, attachment, suffering, happiness. Born and raised in Spain along the Costa de la Luz, Eva moved to the U.S. in 1997 in order to study with teacher Dennis Merzel Roshi and ultimately became an ordained Zen monk. Ms. Malia has received her Masters in Professional Counseling and for the last ten years worked with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma. Ms. Malia's techniques help her clients cultivate the courage to move forwards despite these traumatic events.

Eva uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, Big Mind and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as the primary techniques in her counseling practice. She has also received additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Feminist and Multicultural Therapy.
